Teen Flashes Knife, Threatens Victim on Bow Street: Cops
Portsmouth Police: Jason Cieleszko of Maine was arrested in Kittery this morning after an alleged armed robbery in the city.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A man from Maine was arrested after allegedly attempting to rob a person with a knife on Bow Street this morning, according to Portsmouth Police. Jason Cieleszko, 18, of Eliot, ME, was arrested on Aug. 29, 2016, for being a fugitive from justice.

According to police, officers were sent to Bow Street for a 911 call concerning an armed robbery incident at around 6 a.m. When they arrived, the officers spoke to the victim who alleged that a male suspect “displayed a knife and threatened the victim, demanding money,” according to Lt. Michael Maloney of the Portsmouth Police Department.

“Ultimately the suspect fled the area without obtaining any property from the victim,” Maloney noted. “The victim was not injured.”
The suspect was seen riding a bike toward the Memorial Bridge so a description was given to Kittery Police.

“Within minutes Kittery Police detained and ultimately arrested the suspect,” Maloney offered in a statement.
Cieleszko was charged in Maine and pending extradition, will be returned to New Hampshire at a later date and charged with felony armed robbery.
