This Is Portsmouth Too

I've always thought it kind of odd that there is a riding stables in Portsmouth.

I'm a city boy, and maybe it's my prejudice, but it has always struck me as incongruous that Portsmouth has a riding stables in it.  It's so bucolic, and even provincial as Portsmouth is, it still seems a little bit out of place.  Not that I don't welcome it!

It makes a scene of mystery to me: Who lives in that house on the hill?  What kind of things are in the woods behind the house?  Where do they ride their horses?  I've seen some horses in the pasture in front from time to time, but I've never seen anyone riding.  I'd guess that they ride out back, but I don't know.

It's a real country scene near the very heart of a little city.  I love it.  Portsmouth is unique.
