In the 70’s Boston’s music underground continued to bubble up. It started with such bands in the late 60’s as the Beacon Street Union and Ultimate Spinach, as well as those who came in the 70’s such as Aerosmith, J. Geils Band, the Cars, and the signature classic rock band Boston. In this mix came an artist who arrived in town and became one of the solidifying members of Boston’s music community, James Montgomery.
James was, and remains, a one-man dervish capable of grabbing an audience, controlling it, and giving it a night to remember. Montgomery came to town, from his home in Michigan, to get an education and play a little music. He presented a fresh image, a powerful sound, great backing musicians and a “party ‘til you drop” stage persona.
Joining Montgomery will be Christine Ohlman a/k/a "The Beehive Queen" the current, long-time vocalist with the Saturday Night Live Band, whose many on-stage appearances include Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Brian Wilson, Steve Miller, Graham Nash, George Harrison, and Al Green.
Another member of this traveling roadshow will be Danny Klein the “Ace on Bass” and a founding member of Boston’s legendary J. Geils Band who has helped provide the thumping bass lines on such Geils’ hits as “House Party” and “Hard Drivin’ Man” as well as on their chart topping hits “Centerfold” and “Freezeframe”.
Wrapping up the talent will be Deric Dyer who through circumstances became a member of the Joe Cocker band. Playing in Joe’s horn section with the legendary Bobby Keys of the Rolling Stones.
Deric’s next opportunity came in the good fortune to join Rock & Roll Hall of Famer-Tina Turner. Spending two years as part of her Break Every Rule World Tour, and when Tina was paired with Joe Cocker on Summer festival shows in Germany, Deric and Joe rekindled their friendship; leading to being asked to re-join Joe for the Unchain My Heart World Tour.
David Hull best known as substitute bass player for Aerosmith during their world tours in 2006, 2009 and 2013, began his career in music performing with Buddy Miles, Joe Cocker, Ted Nugent, and Arthur Lee.
His connection to Aerosmith dates back to the late 1970's, when asked to be part of the The Joe Perry Project, a band formed by Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, with whom he has just finished a 2023 tour.
Also joining the line-up will be for the first time Jonn Savannah, formerly of Tina Turner and a touring mate of Deric Dyer's on the Break Every Rule World Tour and also the British bands Squeeze and Procol Harum. Jonn also spent a considerable amount of time as a member of Van Morrison's band, of whom he will be performing at least one of the hits.
Finally, but not lastly, is NH native Brooks Young, a musician who started his career off at a very young age opening for B.B. King with a music career that has soared ever since. He has opened for such acts as Pat Benatar, Sammy Hagar & The Circle, Los Lobos, The Wallflowers and more. His biggest musical influence, Eric Clapton, inspired this singer's incredible vocal range and guitar capabilities. He most recently recorded with his daughter Ruth Clapton, being a highlight of Brooks career.
His recent album Supply Chain Blues landed him a #2 spot on the Blues rocks charts, and his song Supply Chain Blues hit #1 coming in close to one of his other idols Buddy Guy.
