'Wicked' Author Maguire Talks About New Book

Gregory Maguire, bestselling author of Wicked, comes to Portsmouth to discuss “After Alice,” a magical new twist on Lewis Carroll’s classic children’s book Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland.

Since “Wicked” was first published in 1995, millions of readers have discovered Gregory Maguire’s fantastically encyclopedic Oz, a world filled with characters both familiar and new, all daringly reimagined. Maguire now introduces us to a reimagined Alice down the rabbit hole -- a realm as rife with inconsistent rules and egos as the Victorian England she left behind. The book looks at both places and at misunderstandings, old and new.

The event, according to a press statement, will be held at Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at 7 p.m. at The Music Hall Loft, 131 Congress St. in Portsmouth.
