Woman Arrested in Alleged Drug Dealing Death Case
Amy Matton of Portsmouth was charged with selling the drug that caused the death of Bryan Lausberg, a teacher from Somersworth in May.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office announced on Nov. 21, 2016, that Amy Matton, 38, of Portsmouth, was arrested today on multiple counts of acts prohibited, related to the sale of methadone, a controlled drug, that allegedly led to the death of Bryant Lausberg of Somersworth. Lausberg, 27, passed away on May 29, in Dover.

According to Benjamin Agati, a senior assistant attorney general, both the Dover and Portsmouth police departments, along with the DEA, had been “actively investigating this case since Lausberg’s death” in May.

“The same which led to Lausberg’s death carries a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison with the possibility of parole,” Agati noted.
Matton was arraigned in Portsmouth District Court and held. She has a probable cause hearing on Dec. 5.

Lausberg, according to his obituary, was a health/physical education teacher at the Rollinsford Grade School in Rollinsford. He was a top 10 graduate in the Class of 2007 at Somersworth High School and graduated Cum Laude at Plymouth State University in 2001.
According to reports on Patch, Matton was arrested in July on cocaine dealing charges after a six-month investigation. In April 2013, she was arrested by Portsmouth Police on a Seabrook warrant.
