YMCA of the Seacoast to Host Healthy Living Spring Fling

Boomerang Adventures co-sponsors the April 2, event in Portsmouth.

PORTSMOUTH, NH - An introduction to kayaking, paddle boarding, yoga workshops and what’s trending in fitness and nutrition are just a few of the offerings in store when the YMCA of the Seacoast and Boomerang Adventures host the second annual Healthy Living Spring Fling on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

The event will run from 1 to 6 p.m. at The YMCA of the Seacoast, 550 Peverly Hill Road in Portsmouth.

“The Healthy Living Spring Fling is an opportunity for active, older adults to try new things and learn new ideas about achieving and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Debra Nichols, Director of Boomerang Adventures. “There truly is something for everyone.”

Founded in 2013, Boomerang Adventures provides year round opportunities for active, older adults, providing them with opportunities to experience outdoor activities and benefit from social interaction with peers. Programs include day trips and outings, overnight adventure trips and long tours.

“Participants are able to hike, bike, snow shoe or kayak, depending on the season,” added Nichols. “There are opportunities for beginners as well as experienced outdoors people.”

Admission to the Healthy Living Spring Fling is $20 per household (Granite YMCA members, $15 per household). It includes admission to all programs, refreshments, demos, door prizes and passes to the YMCA. Attendees also will receive a $20 credit toward a Boomerang Adventure or towards a program at the YMCA.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Boomerang Adventures for this great event,” said Bobbi Williams, branch director of the YMCA of the Seacoast. “It will be a fun and engaging day.”

Free bus transportation will be provided from the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown to Portsmouth. To save your seat, please call Nichols at 603-785-1411. Pre-registration is also required for the paddle board and kayak sessions, please contact Nichols to sign up.
