13 Candidates Seek 4 Town Council Seats: May 9 Salem Special Election

On May 9, voters will consider 6 candidates seeking one 1-year seat, 5 candidates for 2 2-year seats, 2 candidates for one 3-year seat.

SALEM, NH — Voters will go to the polls in Salem on May 9 to add four town councilors as part of a special election.

Voters approved the proposal to change Salem’s governmental structure from a five-member board of selectmen to a nine-member town council in mid-March by hundreds of votes.

Voting will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, at five locations:
