Amazing Race... Family Style!
Looking for a great family activity? Take part in the YMCA Amazing Race at Camp Otter in Salem, NH!
Join the Merrimack Valley YMCA as it hosts its very first Amazing Race… family style! On Saturday, September 27th (one day after the official Amazing Race 2014 season premier!), the YMCA Amazing Race adventure begins at YMCA Camp Otter in Salem, NH on the scenic shores of Captain’s Pond. Families will compete in teams against other families, completing 10 different obstacle and team building elements throughout the camp site.
Some of the obstacles include: Triangle Blows, Frisbee Fallout, Silent Maze, Archery, Canoeing, and Zip Lining. Just like in the television series, participants will have to watch out for road blocks and detours! YMCA staff will be on hand to help all participants along throughout the race.
The Amazing Race proved to be a very successful event this past summer with Camp Otter campers and now you have the opportunity to have just as much fun as a family. The cost per family team is $10. A family team consists of a minimum of two people and a maximum of eight. You are welcome to bring along a friend and add them to your family for the day.

In addition to participating in the YMCA Amazing Race, the $10/family registration fee also includes a family style BBQ with hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and a drink.
The first 10 families to register will receive a free gift from Life is Good and their choice of team color. You may register at any one of the Merrimack Valley YMCA branches. Families are encouraged to wear clothing and accessories to represent their team color. Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place family uniform style. If your family completes the entire race, your family will be entered into a raffle for a week at Camp Otter during the 2015 summer!
