2013 Salem Volunteer Challenge
Challenge yourselves to give more to Salem and you will gain more!

We all do, and should, take deep pride in our beloved community of Salem. There is a history with our town that is centuries old, yet we are still developing and we are a living, breathing community. New homes being built and businesses reshaping portions of our town are key examples of that.
Our community thrives off of volunteerism. It builds a deeper sense of community among us, and improves the quality of life for everyone around. Cleaning up parks, volunteering at a local school, teaching Religious Education, and other volunteer opportunities exist throughout our town. With so many opportunities, it is vital for everyone to get involved.
So, here is the challenge.

Starting now, until the end of the year, I challenge you to commit 25 Hours to volunteering. Not only is it great on applications for students, but everyone benefits from renewed community involvement. I know that Jane is always welcoming to volunteers at the Farmers Market, and the Field of Dreams has their annual Spring Clean-up sometime this April. There is also the Relay for Life to get involved with, and countless other summer activities that need help.
Your spring and summer will be all the better with your commitment to volunteer, and our town will be better off. Bring a friend or family member, and your impact and enjoyment will be multiplied. There are so many great causes out there, all you have to do is choose one.

P.S. If you have a volunteer opportunity, I am sure Mike and the crew at Patch would love you to post it on the site for more people to see it. The more people that know, the bigger impact you will have!
