A Brighter Future
New Hampshire's future will be bright, but only if we ensure such a path is taken.

With the General Election less than two months away, citizens from across the Granite State get to direct the future the State of New Hampshire will move down. We have a great opportunity to put New Hampshire on a road towards a brighter and more prosperous future, one where individual achievement and community involvement is supported by all who call New Hampshire home.
We do not have to wage war between the parties. The divisions between us, no matter how deep, can be repaired. We can rid our systems of harmful rhetoric, favoring more level headed solutions to our problems. We can accomplish the major initiatives on both parties’ agendas. We can have health care reform that works for our State. We can eradicate the waitlist for State services to ensure that those that need help can get it. We can balance our budget while keeping the overall tax burden low on our communities.
We need a regulatory system that accomplishes many things. It must protect workers from fraudulent management policies, it must enable businesses to create high value jobs, and it must lay the groundwork for businesses to drive our economy forward. While Government investment can certainly boost economic factors, solid recovery will only come when businesses and workers get back to work.

Going forward, we need to be realistic about problems facing Salem. I am running on, and fully support, expanded gambling. That being said, I do not have unrealistic goals about it though. I know it will not fully fund I-93 or school improvements. It will not be a shot in the arm to the New Hampshire economy that people portray it as, and it is simply part of a grander effort to improve our economy. It is a hot button issue, and it does get voters in Salem fired up. However, we need to adopt a position that any attempt at development at the Rock should be emphasized by our elected officials. Any major development at can add jobs to Salem’s economy and move us toward a thriving local economy.
We in Salem will elect nine State Representatives to Concord this November. They need to be advocates for Salem’s economic, civic, and community goals. We can see by the end of this decade, a thriving Salem economy with a thriving and revitalized Salem Depot. We can see Salem grow as an industrial and commercial community, attract hundreds of new citizens to our town limits, and establish itself as a major center of New Hampshire and New England cultural pride. The fact of the matter is our town simply has too much potential to be washed away by partisan gridlock and endless debate.

We have less than two months from deciding the direction New Hampshire takes. We will have a new Governor and plenty of new additions to the General Court to direct our State towards a brighter future. New Hampshire cannot give up on its future, and I know we in New Hampshire will never give up while driving down the road to prosperity. This is a future everyone can benefit from, whether be Democrat, Republican, or Independent.
I am Joe Sweeney, Republican Candidate for New Hampshire State Representative, and I will appreciate your vote on November 6. Together, we will ensure a brighter future for all.
