Candidate for Re-Election to the Salem School Board
Salem School Board candidacy announcement.

I have filed for re-election to the Salem School Board. During the time I’ve served on the school board, I’ve worked to learn and gain experience so that I can be an effective board member.
A board member represents the whole town. There are many school families, but there are many more families that don’t have students in our school system. Everyone has the right to make their opinions known to their elected representatives. I believe that I’ve demonstrated I can listen, discuss and explain my position on issues respectfully, even if we just agree to disagree.
A board member is only one contributor to a successful board. I’ve been fortunate to share the responsibility of school board membership with other very dedicated people. Together we have made significant progress for the Salem School District. Technology has been widely incorporated into instruction delivery and business operations; a master plan has been developed to guide school renovations; the first three of our six elementary schools have been renovated; academic programs have been improved and graduation requirements have been strengthened. Your school board has done this while always striving to give taxpayers a dollar’s value for every dollar spent.

Even though I’m running for re-election, don’t look for signs with my name on them. I want you to vote for me be because you know me and you believe I’m worthy of your vote, or because someone you trust told you I’m worthy of your vote. So if you’d like me to continue serving on the Salem School Board, vote for me and please recommend to your friends that they vote for me too.
With your vote, I will continue to do my part to make the Salem School District a cost-effective, successful school district that you can be proud of belonging to.
