Pope Benedict XVI pedophile cover-ups, and the WestboroBaptist Church, are obvious examples of “Christians” that believe that they are “holier than thou”. Even though a “Christian” may be more aware of eternity than an atheist, and have a greater awareness of the afterlife than the undecided “Joe Six-Pack”, merely believing in God does not guarantee that you are highly evolved.
Don’t misunderstand me: there are many “Christians” that have true and loving hearts. Unfortunately, the word Christian, in quotation marks, also alludes to the large number of people professing to be followers of Yeshua (Greek translation is Jesus), yet the same idolizing zealots appear to go in the opposite direction.
Jimmy Swaggart, Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson and most churches keep asking for donations to save people from hell. This judgmental fear-based paradigm, at the very least, causes a great amount of confusion.
The Bible, and most “Christian” interpretations can be a great source of direction for those that seek answers to the big questions, but over-simplifications can have holes in logic. These interpretations are unforgiving to those that “know not what they do”, and indicates that “Christians” are spiritually immature. In addition, getting on your knees and asking to be saved, does not put an end for the need to keep using your mind.

Human beings must have great potential if we have been created in “His image”. Free will may allow for spiraling upward or downward, but when a person
demonstrates sick behavior, they have all of eternity to improve themselves. To
give up on this large number of human beings is to believe in negativity. You
should believe in the existence of a foundation for endless, unlimited, universal,
positive growth.
All aspects of our lives are being diminished by our “Christian spiritual leaders”. Massive bloodshed from 200 years of Crusades and 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition are in the past. Today we persecute followers of other geo-cultural messiahs, while a percentage of Salvation Army donations fund anti-gay lobbyists. Persisting within our society is a painfully self-centered wet-blanket of fundamentalist-funded patriarchal nationalism, with a self-righteous intolerance for creative diversity.

Catholic churches have weakened as their rituals appear primitive, but in the name of faith, these churches keep encouraging pledges while discouraging real spiritual growth. We have been warned about going to see movies like “Life of Brian”, “The Last Temptation of Christ”, or “Harry Potter” and “Twilight”. Scaring people away from watching the “Smurfs” might not cause much harm, but the lack of wisdom from barely expanding beyond the Bible, means suffering a lifetime of semi-sweet stagnation.
Yeshua warned not to carve things in stone because “flesh changes”, and yet scriptures are often very poorly quoted because it is the “word of God”. “Christians” now seem barely able to cope with having to admit that the sun does not revolve around the Earth. When in their nineties, living in nursing homes, “Christians” often chant and cling to rosary beads. With widespread close-mindedness, it is no wonder why these devotees, never come close to levitating with beams of light blasting out of their nostrils.
It is not blasphemy to study Confucianism and psychology for a greater sense of humanity. Feel free to read some Zen, Taoism, or study sub-particle quantum physics to understand the connection between spirit and matter. Why follow
our local traditional “Christian” authority figures, when they are only as free-thinking as Jim Bakker? Don’t think that your “Christian” church is much better than the Westboro Baptist Church. Many “Christian” sermons are about as
thought-provoking as Jimmy Jones’s Kool-Aid, while homeschooling is often used for the manufacturing of robots for Jesus, by simultaneously introducing a greater
perspective with undeveloped or archaic forms of reasoning.
Move on from “Christianity” like Yeshua moved on from his teachers. Whatever you believe in, there is always more to discover. As American adults we are free to educate ourselves, but our overall spiritual growth is slow in coming when coupled with intolerance for coexistence.
