Emerson College students raising money for victims of Boston Marathon Bombing
Emerson College students take on true philanthropic effort to help Boston Marathon Bombing victims.
Blue T-shirts emblazoned with yellow letters brought in more than $716,000 for One Fund Boston in two weeks.
Emerson College students Nick Reynolds, 20, and Chris Dobens, 18, came up with an idea to help raise money for the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing...sell t-shirts. They are the originators of the "Boston Strong" motto and developed a t-shirt with the Boston Athletic Association colors of blue and yellow. They credit the Live Strong and Army Strong ideas as their inspiration.
They sell the $20 shirts on Ink to the People. This company is an online t-shirt production company. The company donated all of the first 1,500 T-shirt sales and has used $5 of the subsequent shirts' sales to cover their production costs.
This is a truly philanthropic effort where a couple of young college students took advantage of the situation to help the victims without making a profit for themselves. This is the type of effort that should be celebrated!
