Local Dog Escapes Out Back Door and Needs Your Help

Marshall, a 14-pound all-black dog wearing a blue harness ran away Monday night and needs your help to bring him home.

Marshall is a petite, 14-pound black dog that is very frightened. He had just finished up a visit at a local boarding facility and his owners could not get to him before they closed so a friend stopped in and picked him up.

He brought Marshall back to his Grove Street home and brought him indoors. Someone opened up the back door and Marshall bolted and ran down the street. Everyone in the neighborhood was alerted but Marshall was gone.

Animal Control was contacted and signs were put up in the Lake Street area. Granite State Dog Recovery was alerted to the situation on Tuesday afternoon and I quickly drove to that area. After a two-hour search I found someone who had spotted him in their yard only a couple of hours earlier.

I knew then we were in the right area and he was still local. Rounding the corner onto Lake Street the dog ran right out in front of my car. I immediately pulled over and called the owner as I watched Marshall criss cross across the road several times and then disappear two minutes before Woody arrived. We searched the entire corn field and surrounding area but Marshall had managed to disappear again.

We called for back up and more people came out. We had more signs printed up and got them posted on Millville Street and School Street. We found more people who had seen Marshall earlier in the day so we are convinced that Marshall is staying close by.

Although he does not live in this area he did go missing there so he appears to be moving in a large circle.

As of Tuesday evening he is still misiing. We need your help! If you spot him please call Lori 508-641-3500 at Granite State Dog Recovery immediately. DO NOT CHASE and DO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT. We want to bring this dog home safely. Please keep your eyes open, share this and go to our facebook page for continuous updates.

It sometimes takes a village to bring a dog home safely. Marshall needs your help today! Thank you.
