Tomorrow the track at Salem High School will be dotted with tents and a stage when nearly 400 Relayers take to the track to participate in the 9th Relay for Life of Salem, NH. This fundraiser supports the American Cancer Society, which is celebrating its 100th birthday this year.

You don't have to be a registered team member to join the festivities! Come on down and walk a lap or two. Throughout the event, teams will offer various refreshments and raffles for sale. There'll be facepainting, and entertainment provided by Canobie Lake Park. Throughout the evening and into the early morning, Relayers will dress up in costumes representing themed laps including patriotic spirit, favorite team gear (go Bruins!), a zombie invasion, pirates, beach party, nerds, super heroes ... just to name a few.

At 9:00 p.m. silence will fall upon the track as we walk quietly to honor those who've won their battle and remember those who've lost. During this lap, votive candles are lit inside personalized bags to shine a light on the fight against cancer. The power of this ceremony lies in providing an opportunity for people to share their grief and find hope. You can "purchase" a luminaria bag onsite. Please bring a canned food item to place inside your bag. All canned food will be collected and donated to a local food bank.

Walk the track with Relay teams; stop by teams' tents and support their efforts. Non-registered guests must be off the track by 11:00 p.m.

Come back for breakfast at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, which is hosted by Salem Fire Department. Closing ceremony will be at 7:00 a.m.

If you can't join us at the event, please consider a donation. Visit Relay for Life of Salem NH website for details.
