Salem Teachers Raises Articles 4 to 7

We have raises for Salem teachers on the ballot on Articles 4 to 7. 

CONS:

1. Teachers make much more than the state average.
2. All teachers will get raises even the ones that preform poorly.
3. Its raises for multiple years without merit being involved like the private sector.

PROS:

1. The teachers have NOT had a raise in a few years now.
2. It's not the teachers' fault that the unions ensure merit is NOT a basis in raises.
3. We have some really great teachers that we want to keep.
4. The overstaffing in the school system is the administrations' fault not teachers and they should NOT be punished.

At the end of the day I think our teachers should get a raise.  I think we need to weed out the bad or poor performing teachers/staff but that is not the fault of the rest of the staff.  We should make some adjustments to the staff and install merit based pay but that is for another fight. Good teachers are hard to find and we can't afford to lose them.
