Summer Heat Stats

Last summer was a hot one. After a slow start, this summer has turned out to be quite warm too.

We all know that the Summer of 2010 was a hot one (see stats here). After a slow start, this summer has been quite nice so far in New England. Last year, there were 34 days with temperatures at or above 90 degrees. We have seen 10 so far this year, which is actually a surprising number to me. The heat this year has not been as intense as last year, however.

This year's 90-degree days:
* May 27: 90º
* June 1: 91º
* June 7: 90º
* June 8: 94º
* June 9: 92º
* June 16: 90º
* July 4: 91º
* July 5: 90º
* July 6: 91º
* July 11: TBD (at least 90º)

Two heat waves:
* June 7-9
* July 4-6
