President Obama believes that quality, affordable health insurance you can rely on is at the heart of middle class security. That's why he fought for a health care law that would help all Americans not only obtain coverage but also become more secure in the coverage they have. No longer being denied for pre-existing conditions, allow parents to keep their children under age 26 without job-based coverage on their family’s coverage, and, thanks to this provision, 2.5 million young people have gained coverage nationwide. As of June 2011, 8,330 young adults in New Hampshire gained insurance coverage as a result of the new health care law. In 2011, 163,746 people with Medicare in New Hampshire received free preventive services – such as mammograms and colonoscopies – or a free annual wellness visit with their doctor. And 54 million Americans with private health insurance gained preventive service coverage with no cost-sharing, including 279,000 in New Hampshire.
The House approved a measure last year to return more than $600,000 in federal health insurance exchange development grants. When the Executive Council rejected a $333,000 state contract financed by a federal grant to help set up an exchange, House Speaker O'Brien applauded the move sends a message the majority of our current Legislative and Executive Council group does not care about the health of our New Hampshire Citizens.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want our Salem State Representatives to have control over my healthcare protection. Let's make a change in November.
