Tell readers a little about yourself and your background.

Rick and Kristi have been married for over ten years and really enjoy working together.  We love candy and chocolate, so were super excited to purchase Pearls six years ago.  Yup, the same Pearls Candy from Theater Row in Lawrence owned by Lenny Pearl.

In a nutshell, describe your business.

We are a local retail and online candy, chocolate and nut store.  We specialize in old fashioned hard to find items. Some favorites you may remember are Necco Wafers, Wax Lips, Broadway Rolls, Satellite Wafers (aka UFOs), Mary Janes, Candy Buttons and Anise Squares.  We have a large selection of current novelty candy by Wonka, specialty chocolates, and a large selection of sugar free candy and chocolates.  We roast our own cashews, redskins, peanuts and Spanish peanuts, as well as, have imported Zenobia pistachios.  We also have a large selection of candy by the color or by the theme to create candy buffets for parties, weddings, showers or birthdays, you name it.

The excitement we see on faces when customers see all their favorite childhood candy.  They can’t believe their favorites are still available. Every customer, regardless of age, takes a walk down memory lane with old-fashioned favorites and new classics of today.  And every section of the store stirs up sweet memories for Mom, Dad and grandparents to share the candies they grew up with.  This is what makes us special.
