Salem Police: Charges may be filed in the case after three vehicles crash, closing roadway.

SALEM, NH — Prosecutors may file charges after a three-vehicle accident on Nov. 1, 2016, at the intersection of Route 111 and Ermer Road took the life of an elderly woman, according to police. Capt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department reported tonight that the department is investigating the crash scene and will be working with the Rockingham County Attorney’s Office “to see what, if any, charges may be filed as a result of this accident,” according to a report.

At just after 4:30 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the intersection for a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries. The preliminary investigation shows that a 2010 Honda Accord being driven by a 45-year-old man turned west onto Route 111 and struck a 2015 Kia Optima that was driving west.

“The cause of this collision pushed the Kia into the east bound lane of 111 where it struck a 1993 Toyota Camry which was traveling eastbound,” Dolan noted. “As a result of the collision, the operator of the Kia and the two occupants of the Toyota suffered serious injuries.”
