Fatal 2-Alarm Fire Reported In Salem
Breaking: Salem Fire and Rescue teams were able to save a number of people at Cluff Crossing Road last night. One person lost their life.

SALEM, NH — Salem Fire and Rescue teams were called to a two-alarm blaze at an apartment building on Cluff Crossing Road last night. One person lost their life in the blaze but many others were saved from the building by firefighters. At least one person reportedly jumped from the building to escape the flames.
Salem Fire was first called to the building at around 11 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2018. The fire quickly went to two alarms.
Additional ambulances were also called in to assist those who were injured. WMUR-TV is reporting that six were sent to the hospital with injuries.

According to alerts on Twitter and other fire departments, mutual aid from Londonderry, Pelham, Hudson, Litchfield, Hampstead, and Derry all assisted at the scene as well as with coverage.
The American Red Cross were also called to the scene last night. Its Disaster Action Team volunteers have met with the residents and have ensured everyone has a safe place to sleep and has food, clothing and other essentials, according to spokesperson Dan Brown.

"Over the next several days, Red Cross client casework volunteers will stay in contact with the family and provide referrals, as they begin their road to recovery," he noted in a press statement.
