Former Opponent Backs Grosky in Rockingham County Attorney Race

Michael Zaino will serve as Grosky's campaign committee chairman in Republican primary against current attorney, Patricia Conway.

ATKINSON, NH - Jason Grosky, the Salem Police prosecutor that is taking another stab at the Rockingham County Attorney’s seat, has received the endorsement of a former opponent from two years ago, according to a statement.

Michael Zaino of Hampton, a prosecutor himself, and the vice chairman of that community’s Republican committee, has endorsed Grosky and will also serve as the chairman of his campaign committee.

Zaino said he believed Grosky being a dedicated public servant as will his role in law enforcement and “heroin attack plan” were reasons for the endorsement.

“I have seen Jason make sacrifices as he put in countless hours dedicated to making our community better, stronger and safer for all of us,” Zaino said. “The Rockingham County Attorney’s Office needs a leader with a sense of public service, a public servant prepared to seek justice on behalf of crime victims and the community. Jason is that leader.”

Grosky said he would be relying on Zaino’s insight to combat the region’s ongoing opioid crisis and previous experience as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. He also thanked him for the endorsement.

“Michael is an important part of our team and I’m honored to have his support,” Grosky said. “We see the importance of taking a community approach to fight the heroin epidemic. Doing so takes new leadership atop the County Attorney’s Office, which is in worse shape today than when we ran two years ago.”

Grosky is challenging current County Attorney Patricia Conway in the Republican primary. She won the 2014 primary after running in a four-way race that also featured Grosky and Zaino. Conway announced in November of last year that she would be running again.
