Fourth Norwood Road Vandal Arrested: Cops

Salem Police charge Matthew Gioia with criminal mischief after arresting three other men last week.

SALEM, NH - The fourth and final alleged man involved in a vandalism spree in the Norwood Road neighborhood of Salem has been charged, according to Capt. Joel P. Dolan of the Salem Police Department.

Matthew Gioia, 24, of Salem, was arrested on an outstanding warrant on Jan. 22, 2016, and charged with a single count of criminal mischief.

According to Dolan, Gioia turned himself in to police after learning of the charge

Brian Thornhill, 24, of Salem, Daniel Tiner, 23, of Hampstead, and Kevin Williams, 24, of Hampton, were charged last week with numerous counts after an incident on the road on Jan. 11.

Gioia is due in court on March 7.

“This concludes the investigation and no additional arrests are expected,” Dolan noted in a statement. “There was no motive to the incident and it does not appear as if anyone in the neighborhood was specifically targeted.”
