Haverhill Man Arrested for Reckless Conduct, Not Stopping for Pedestrians: Log

SALEM, NH — Shawn P. DeFeo, 48, of Bellevue Avenue in Haverhill, MA, was arrested at 2:11 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2016, and charged with willful concealment, a felony, due to two prior convictions, two counts of reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, and failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. He was charged while being held at the Rockingham County Jail.

Maria Chavez-Mendez, 22, of Walnut Street in Lawrence, MA, was arrested on two counts of willful concealment at 5:56 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2016, after an alleged incident at Kohl’s on Cluff Crossing Road.

Emma L. Bernard, 21 of South Broadway in Salem, was arrested at 7:03 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2016, for willful concealment after an alleged incident at Bob’s Stores on Cluff Crossing Road.

Joel Jimenez Valdez, 34, of Ashurst Street in Kissimmee, FL, was arrested at 1:31 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2016, for issuing bad checks.

Samuel L. Swanson, 24, of Hamle Avenue in Pembroke, was arrested at 2:16 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2016, for possession of a controlled drug-heroin, crack, less than 1 gram. Also arrested was Jordan G. Patterson, 29, of Pembroke Street in Pembroke, for transporting drugs in a motor vehicle. They were arrested after police were sent to the Red Roof Inn on Red Roof Lane for a report of a drug offense. They both refused bail and was taken to the Rockingham County Jail.

George Whiting, 29, of Blueberry Lane in Penacook, was arrested at 6:52 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2016, for willful concealment. Also arrested was Amanda Whiting, 37, of Blueberry Lane in Penacook, for willful concealment and resisting arrest or detention. Police were sent to Sears at the Mall at Rockingham Park for a report of shoplifters allegedly stealing a television. A loss prevention employee reportedly chased the pair through a parking lot and then, found them in the lower level track side of the store. Both subjects refused bail and was transported to the Rockingham County Jail.

Xiaohong S. Valente, 46, of Fiorenza Drive in Wilmington, MA, was arrested at 12:37 p.m. on Aug. 22, 2016, for willful concealment. She was arrested after an alleged shoplifting incident at Kohl’s on Cluff Crossing Road.

Steven W. Lawlor, 26, of Shore Drive in Salem, was arrested at 9:34 p.m. on Aug. 22, 2016, for driving under the influence after an accident on Zion Hill Road near the North Salem Elementary School. A utility pole was damaged during the crash.
