Lane Closures For I-93 Work Next Week
New I-93 southbound bridge taking place Monday and Tuesday.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the erection of structural steel for the reconstruction of the I-93 southbound bridge over NH Route 38 (Lowell Road). This work will take place on Monday, Oct. 22 and Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
A lane closure will be required both nights on Interstate 93 southbound between Exit 1 and Exit 2 in Salem. Route 38 (Lowell Road) will be closed both nights to through traffic between Stiles Road and South Policy Street in Salem during this steel erection operation.
Motorists using I-93 southbound in the area of Exit 1 in Salem during these hours can expect minor traffic delays. Motorists using Lowell Road during these hours will be detoured along Stiles Road, Pelham Road, and South Policy Street. The area will remain accessible to residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles.

Electronic message signs will be used to inform the traveling public of upcoming work. Uniformed officers and traffic control devices will be used to slow, direct, and assist motorists around the work zone.
This work is part of the $30.5 million I-93 reconstruction and widening project in the vicinity of Exit 1. The general contractor is Middlesex Corporation of Littleton, Mass.
