Lo Scholarship Fundraiser June 15

Three years ago this month, , was killed in Iraq attempting to defuse an improvised explosive device.

To honor his memory, his family has set up a scholarship fund so his successors in the Air Force Jr. ROTC can reach their dreams.

The third annual pasta night fundraiser for Lo's scholarship will be held Friday, June 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Salem High School, 44 Geremonty Drive, featuring food from Carraba's Italian Grill.

Admission is $12 for adults and children under the age of 10 eat free. There will be raffle prizes including a 50/50 and a special drawing to win Red Sox tickets for a game later this season.

Lo specialized in explosive ordnance disposal and was a member of the 797th Ordnance Company and 79th Ordnance Battalion in the Army.

Lo's mother, Rosa, who owns Jasmine Computer on South Broadway in Salem with her husband, David, said the fundraisers have raised $4,000 each of the last two years.

She said the scholarship is awarded each year to an SHS student in the Jr. ROTC program who intends to pursue a college degree.
