Mass. Man Arrested on DUI Charges: Salem Police Log
Plus, a slew of teens arrested, Derry man arrested on drug charges, and a NJ woman, Bay State residents bagged on shoplifting charges.

SALEM, NH — Anthony J. Cavarretta, 37, of Clarke Street in Manchester, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2017, for theft by deception ($1,000 or less). He was arrested by Manchester Police on a shoplifting warrant and held on $2,000 cash bail.

Alexis Silvar, 19, of Thissel Avenue in Dracut, MA, was arrested at 4:55 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2017, for willful concealment and endangering the welfare of a child. Also arrested was Markus P. Silvar, 21, same address, for willful concealment, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a theft detective device remover, and breach of bail conditions. They were arrested at Macy’s at the Mall at Rockingham Park after a report of a shoplifting incident. Markus Silvar refused bail and was held.

Faustina C. Baez, 52, of Kearney, NJ, was arrested at 2:52 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2017, for willful concealment. She was arrested and released on $500 cash bail after an alleged shoplifting incident at Macy’s at the Mall at Rockingham Park.
Kenneth D. Snider, 53, of Broadway in Somerville, was arrested at 10:14 p.m. on Dec. 29, 2016, on two counts of DUI, aggravated DUI (0.16+), and open container. He was arrested after a motor vehicle complaint from I-93 North Exit 2 about a vehicle dragging its muffler and driving all over the road. The caller followed the vehicle until it pulled into the parking lot of Northeastern while reporting hitting “multiple snowbanks” on the opposite side of the road.

Nestor D. Santos, 26, of Mount Pleasant Avenue in Boston, MA, was arrested at 3:38 p.m. on Dec. 29, 2016, for willful concealment (between $1,000 and $1,500). He was arrested at Target on South Broadway.
Martin R. Hansen Jr., 55, of Old Manchester Road in Raymond, was arrested at 3:44 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2016, on a fugitive warrant and for being a habitual offender. He was arrested on Veterans Memorial Parkway near the police station.
At 8:09 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2016, Salem Fire and Rescue teams were sent to Cole’s Trailer Park on Lowell Road for a report of two men overdosing. They were transported to Parkland Medical.
Michael St. Laurent Driggers, 18, of Fox Run Lane in Salem, was arrested at 7:50 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2016, for possession of a controlled drug-hash, less than 5 grams. Also arrested were a 17-year-old for transportation of drugs in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled drug, and possession/use of tobacco product by a minor, and two 16-year-olds for possession of a controlled drug and possession/use of tobacco product by a minor. They were all arrested on Norwood Road.
A juvenile was arrested for shoplifting at Lord & Taylor at the Mall at Rockingham Park at 7:12 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2016.
Nicholas G. Dombroski, 20, of Tsinneto Road in Derry, was arrested at 4:58 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2016, on two counts of transportation of drugs in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled drug-hash, less than 5 grams, and possession of a controlled drug. He was arrested on a warrant.
Salem Fire and Rescue teams were called to Cole’s Trailer Park on Lowell Road for an overdose report at 9:04 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2016. A man was transported to Holy Family.
Salem Fire and Rescue teams were sent to Meridan Drive for a report of a Xanax overdose at 1:56 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2016. The subject was transported to Lawrence General.
James E. McCormick Jr., 28, of Maplewood in Everett, MA, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. on Dec. 27, 2016, for possession of a controlled drug-crack/heroin, less than 1 gram, carrying or selling weapons, and a bench warrant. Also arrested was Saxon J. Schelfhaudt, 32, of Cedar Street in Woburn, MA, for possession of a controlled drug-marijuana. They were arrested by police on South Broadway after a report of suspicious persons appearing to rummaging through dumpsters at Target and McDonald’s. McCormick was held.
Kyle C. Carver, 19, of Oakridge Avenue in Salem, was arrested at 1:06 p.m. on Dec. 27, 2016, for driving after revocation or suspension and motor vehicle not equipped with an alcohol interlock device after an accident on South Broadway near Popeye’s.
