SALEM, NH — A good Samaritan appeared to have assisted in thwarting an attempted robbery at the Mall at Rockingham Park Tuesday, according to Salem police. At just after 7 p.m., officers were sent to the mall for a report of a strong-armed robbery. Dispatchers, according to Deputy Chief Joel Dolan, heard an individual shouting, "Stop!" and then, lost the call.

The caller was reached again and stated they believed they had interrupted a robbery in progress.

When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who claimed that two men attempted to steal a bag of iPhones from him after "grabbing him and throwing him to the ground while he was walking to his car," according to a report. The man was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
