Pair Indicted for Robbing, Beating Naked Man at Red Roof Inn

Both are still in jail awaiting arraignment on Jan. 30.

Two people charged with an October 2014 robbery and assault of a naked man at the Red Roof Inn in Salem have been indicted, according the New Hampshire Union Leader.

Vincent Evelyn, 32, of Dorchester, MA, and Ryanne McCann, 27, of Rollingsford, were arrested on Oct. 5, 2014.

Evelyn was charged with first-degree assault, robbery with a deadly weapon, criminal restraint, being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon, and destroying/hiding evidence. McCann was charged with robbery, criminal restraint, and simple assault.

According to the report, the victim came in contact with the pair after reading and responding to an ad on Backpage.com. When he arrived, he was allegedly ordered to strip and hand over money, according to police. The victim was later seen running from the motel, without any clothes on, while bleeding from the head.

According to online reports, Evelyn was previously arrested for robbing a bank in Massachusetts and McCann was arrested in Maine for prostitution and driving charges in Concord.
