Police Involved in Multi-Agency Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle

Update: Salem Police, other investigators gave chase through the community; NHSP are in Chester hunting for a possible suspect.

SALEM, NH — Salem Police have confirmed that the department was involved in a pursuit this morning but limited details are available at post time. The pursuit reportedly first began at around 10 a.m. on April 12, 2017, as a number of people on Twitter noted that first Salem Police, and then other agencies, were racing around the community.

Rockingham Alert posted a note stated that the pursuit concerned a reported stolen vehicle in Salem that may have also struck a police cruiser.

Jason Schreiber of the New Hampshire Union Leader reported on Twitter at just before 11:30 a.m. that New Hampshire State Police K-9 units are searching an area in Chester for a suspect. The stolen vehicle has been recovered. At just after 1 p.m., a description of the man was released.

At least one school in Sandown, according to Libertarian Party gubernatorial candidate Jilletta Jarvis, is in lockdown at officials search for the suspect, according to a note she made on Twitter. She added that helicopters could be heard in the area, too.
