Salem Police have issued an updated statement concerning an alert earlier today involving a runaway juvenile with a handgun that led to a safety alert at Salem High School.
Lt. Joel Dolan confirmed to news organizations that police found the missing juvenile, a male teenager, passed away in an abandoned building on the property of the Rockingham Park racetrack.
The state medical examiner’s office was called in along with the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit and Salem detectives. It was determined that the man succumbed to injuries sustained from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Dolan.
