Bicyclist Killed Near I-495
A bicyclist was killed in a crash on Route 110 in Methuen Tuesday afternoon.

METHUEN, MA — A man on a motorized bicycle was killed in Methuen Tuesday afternoon after striking a truck on Route 110, police said. The bicyclist was identified as a 58-year-old Methuen man. His identity was withheld Tuesday night pending notification of family.
Police said the crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. near the Interstate 495 ramp as the truck driver and bicyclist were stopped at a red light.
"When the light turned green both the bicyclist and truck started forward," police said in a statement. "For unknown reasons the bicyclist came off the side walk and into the roadway striking the passenger side of the truck. The bicyclist ... was determined to be deceased at the scene."

The truck driver is a 29-year-old man from Hudson, New Hampshire, police said. He has not been charged.
