Salem Botanical Garden Benefit Held Aug. 5
The Final Putt Mini Golf fundraiser will assist in transforming the former Victorian Park into a botanical garden.
The Final Putt Mini Golf event will give a nostalgic last chance for a final round of mini golf at the former Victorian Park in Salem.
The property, located at 350 North Broadway, is the new home of the Salem Botanical Garden (SBG). The event is being held as a fundraiser for the fledgling non-profit organization with a vision to transform the landmark property into a botanical garden with a mission to educate young and old about our native natural species and plantings and provide a serene natural environment for all to enjoy right in the heart of Salem.
The Final Putt Mini Golf event will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The cost is $20 per adult / $10 per child age 12 and under, which includes a 10-hole round of mini golf, light barbecue (served between 5 and 7 p.m.) and one raffle ticket per player for the door prize drawing. A limited number of raffle squares will be sold for $20 per square for a grand prize drawing.
Regina Andler, the president of the SBG Board of Directors, stated in a press release, “This is the first of many events we will be holding to help raise funds and awareness regarding our mission to transform this property which already is a beautiful natural space with many existing mature plantings and water features, into a fully realized botanical garden.”

The event will allow participants to learn more about the SBG, tour the existing garden and learn more about plans for development. A landscape architect has designed a three phase plan to develop the SBG which will eventually include the main botanical garden, multiple garden “rooms” of different varieties, including, a butterfly house and garden; an amphitheatre for community events; a meditative Labyrinth as well as a visitor center and gift shop.
Opportunities to sponsor a hole at The Final Putt Mini Golf event are still available. To sponsor or to sign-up to golf, please contact Regina Andler at the Salem Botanical Garden by calling 603-235-5638 or email regina@salembotanicalgarden.org.
