Salem Dad, His Daughter Arrested After Rape Claim Practical Joke

SALEM, NH — Scott F. White, 50, pictured right, of Friendship Drive in Salem, and Brittany Jones, 28, left, of Wilson Street in Manchester, were arrested at 8:58 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2019, on false public alarm; report to government agency charges. Police were sent to Friendship Drive at 4:21 p.m. for a report of a sexual assault incident. The caller, a woman, reported that a masked man came into her home and tried to rape her daughter. During the course of the investigation, police learned that the rape claim was "a practical joke" that White and Jones were accused of playing on another family member. Joshua R. Willett, 45, of Doane Street in Haverhill, Massachusetts, was arrested at 8:28 a.m. on Sept. 17, and charged with four counts of forge prescription and four counts of possession of a controlled drug. He was arrested a police headquarters.

11:32 p.m. on Sept. 17: Officers and a K-9 unit were sent to North Main Street for a report of a possible burglary involving four men. Officers checked the area but didn't find anything. The resident reported that his truck door was open and he thought her heard something. Nothing, however, was taken.

5:33 p.m. on Sept. 17: A woman asked for assistance because she was along in a Northwester Drive parking lot and saw a strange vehicle on the property.

5:17 p.m. on Sept. 17: Police were sent to Mount Pleasant Cemetery for a report of a suspicious vehicle – a black pickup truck. This is the third report of the vehicle being in the area, according to police. The complainant believed that someone might be hunting in the cemetery. A note was left on the vehicle by police.

2:08 p.m. on Sept. 17: An unconscious man was reported on Charles Street.

12:34 p.m. on Sept. 17: An accident was reported at the Cumberland Farms on South Broadway.

9:52 a.m. on Sept. 17: Police helped to track down a stolen cellphone on Sally Sweet's Way.
