The Salem Police Department’s K9, Til von der Treiser Hohlen, passed away on Oct. 28, at the age of 9, according to the department’s website. K9 Til had a short battle with cancer and passed away in the morning.
The department noted: “Officer Benoit and K9 Til were widely respected throughout the region for their hard work and consistent results. The department has lost one of its greatest assets. Officer Benoit was with Til when he passed.”
