Salem Police Log: Crash on Butler Street Leads to DUI Charge

Plus, overdose on Cluff Crossing Road leads to charges and man arrested on second-degree assault charges.

Dewis J. Nunez, of Brookside Court in Methuen, MA, was arrested at 12:38 a.m. on Sept. 6, 2015, for DUI-impairment, DUI aggravated (0.16+), criminal mischief, and conduct after an accident. Officers were sent to a crash at Butler Street and Wheeler Avenue where a vehicle drove into a utility pole. When they arrived, they found no driver at the scene, according to the report. Witnesses stated that a man was seen running up the street and behind a house across the Salem/Methuen line. Methuen Police headed to the area and found the man, Nunez, who was allegedly “highly intoxicated” and could “hardly speak.”

Daniel F. Moore, 42, of Lowell Road in Salem, was arrested at 4:38 p.m. on Sept. 6, for second-degree assault (strangulation), second-degree assault-domestic violence, criminal threat-domestic violence, criminal threat, and simple assault-domestic violence. He was arrested on a warrant.

Anthony Holm, 63, of Everett Street in East Boston, MA, received a summons at 9:19 p.m. on Sept. 6, for driving while intoxicated. Officers were sent to the Mall at Rockingham Park for a report of a possible drunk driver leaving the area. Holm was later cited.

Anthony J. Marzullo, 52, of Winter Street in Woburn, MA, was arrested at 12:49 p.m. on Sept. 7, on three counts of domestic violence-simple assault and domestic violence-false imprisonment. He turned himself in on a warrant.

Russell Montbleau, 44, of Market Street in Lowell, MA, was arrested at 1:03 p.m. on Sept. 7, for willful concealment at Sears at the Mall at Rockingham Park.

Michael G. Fantasia, 24, of Cluff Crossing Road in Salem, was arrested at 2:48 p.m. on Sept. 7, for possession of a controlled drug and breach of bail. Officers were sent to Cluff Crossing Road for a report of a heroin overdose involving a man. Before they or Salem Fire and Rescue teams arrived, the man reportedly fled out a rear door, jumped over a fence, and headed toward Hagop Road. An officer caught the man, Fantasia, on Kelly Road and EMTs responded to that location.

Ya-Hui Baw, 41, and Su Ying Baw, 66, both of Wilson road in Londonderry, were arrested at 2:56 p.m. on Sept. 7, on willful concealment charges. Police were sent to Kohl’s on Cluff Crossing Road for a report of a shoplifter taking off with clothes that he was wearing and didn’t pay for – shorts and a Celtics T-shirt. A few minutes later, officers arrested two women on shoplifting charges.

Patricia Masys, 57, of Margin Street in Haverhill, MA, was arrested at 6:07 p.m. on Sept. 7, for DUI-impairment. Officers were sent to Salem Animal Rescue League for a report of a car that pulled into the parking lot and struck a tent. The driver, the caller stated, appeared to be impaired. Salem Fire and Rescue teams were called to the scene and the woman, Masys, was arrested and later, transported to the Parkland Medical Center and released on a summons.
