Salem Police Seek Tips About Early Morning Shooting

Fight in parking lot leads to shots fired, shell casings, bloody man at Jocelyn's Mediterranean Restaurant on South Broadway.

SALEM, NH — The Salem Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a report of an early morning fight and shooting on South Broadway this morning, according to a post on Facebook. Officers were sent to Jocelyn's Mediterranean Restaurant on South Broadway at around 3:30 a.m. on March 12, 2017, for a report of shots fired in the area.

According to the alert, when units arrived on scene, the learned from witnesses how a fight had occurred in the parking lot after a party ended at Jocelyn’s.

“Witnesses stated numerous people were involved in the fight and a male discharged a firearm several times,” according to the post. “There was also reported to be a bloody male taken from the scene in an unknown vehicle. Several shell casings were recovered from the scene along with a small amount of blood.”

Neither the victim or victims nor the involved parties have been located or identified, according to police, and the incident is still under investigation.
