Salem Resident Raises Alzheimer's Awareness

Lisa Collins, a resident services director at an assisted living facility, says she is walking for residents now and those who have passed.

SALEM, NH — Lisa Collins of Salem will participate in the Central New Hampshire to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September 24 at Arms Park in Manchester, according to a press statement. Collins is a resident services director at an assisted living facility in Salem.

"My passion has always been Alzheimer's," said Collins who is participating in the event for her second year. "I am walking for my residents that are here now and the residents that have passed away. Last year I had about 20 staff walk with me. It was a great time. I can't wait to walk again."

“We are grateful to each person who makes a commitment to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s by participating, volunteering or making a donation,” said Jim Wessler, president/CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. “The funds raised will provide support services to people impacted by Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to the research that is critical to putting an end to this disease.”

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
