St. Joseph School Eighth-Graders Donate Fresh Produce to Food Pantries
The students then delivered the items to Saints Mary & Joseph Parish Food Pantry and the Lazarus House Soup Kitchen to help those in need.
SALEM, NH — St. Joseph Regional Catholic School’s eighth-grade class collected and donated fresh breads and produce to Saints Mary & Joseph Parish Food Pantry and to the Lazarus House Soup Kitchen, according to a press statement. As part of the school’s annual St. Teresa Harvest Mass, the class collected fresh bread, fruits, and vegetables from the school’s families. The students then delivered the items to local organizations who serve those who need assistance in feeding their families
“Our school family’s generosity was on display once again with the bountiful collection of vegetables and fruit that graced the altar,” explained Dr. Noreen McAloon, Principal. “This event is one of the highlights of the school year because of its tradition as the first of the year’s community service endeavors. Our students graduate not only with academic excellence but with a respect and desire to service their communities."
