The Democratic National Convention Officially Begins
Update on day two in Charlotte, the first big day of the DNC is under way today.

Yesterday's highlights included the Faith Council caucus which included addresses by Rev Barbara Skinner, Rabbi Frank Guttman and Congressman Pastor Cleaver of Missouri. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz also spoke.
Later in the afternoon I was standing on a new kitchen counter to paint the walls above the cupboards in House United - a joint project with Craftsman Tools and Rebuilding Together. Half of a house was built in Tampa last week at the RNC, the other half this week at the DNC. The halves will be united to make a home for a veteran. You can find the project on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/craftsman/app_269290549846182. I got to meet Ty Pennington and lots of great delegates from Maine, Vermont, Washington and elsewhere.
Last night I was able to get tickets to see The Roots with a fantastic opening by Allen Stone. The concert was put on by StartUp RockOn to support startup businesses. A local startup was awarded funds to help move them to the next level.

Tonight is the first big night of the convention. NH Delegates are seated on the floor, in the front, to the speaker's right. The most anticipated speaker will be Michelle Obama but there are many speakers beforehand including Harry Reid, Martin O'Malley and Julian Castro.
