Four Windham Runners Brave Marathon Heat

William Madden was the first from town to cross the finish line.

Four Windham runners successfully battled the heat today to successfully complete the 26.2-mile Boston Marathon course.

William Madden who wore bib no. 9469, was the first of the residents to finish. He had a final finish gun time of 3 hours, 40 minutes and 48 seconds. 

At the halfway point, the 40-year-old Madden was running at a 1 hour, 31 minutes and 22 seconds clip.

Also running the treacherous course were 47-year-old Laura Boyd, 43-year-old Sean Haggerty and 41-year-old Tracy Carracedo.

Boyd finished with a final gun time of 4 hours, 26 minutes and 27 seconds and a halfway point time of 2 hours, 2 minutes and 50 seconds.

Haggerty finished with a final gun time of 5 hours, 12 minutes and 21 seconds and a halfway point time of 2 hours, 21 minutes and 12 seconds.

Carracedo finished with a final gun time of 5 hours, 30 minutes and 30 seconds and a halfway point time of 2 hours, 24 minutes and 8 seconds.

Over 360 runners from New Hampshire were registered for today's race, but several bowed out due to the temperatures that at times were up over 80 degrees today.
