The Grade 4 Wolverines put forth valiant effort against the Pelham Razorbacks, but came up a bit short for the win. The first quarter opened up with the kickoff to Pelham, ball returned and tackle made by Keegan Parke. Joseph Hero also fired back quickly with a quarterback sack letting the Razorbacks know that Windham was ready to fight for a win. Pelham ran a quarterback keeper to the outside but was quickly shut down by Brett Boucher and Joseph Hero again penetrated the backfield for a QB sack with 4 minutes and 30 on the clock. Pelham, not to be deterred, drew first blood with three minutes left, scoring the first touchdown of the game (though losing the extra point by a block to Joseph Hero). It was an exciting first quarter with a kickoff reception by Mason Rice and a strong tackle coming from Brett Boucher.
In the second quarter, "the big dog" Cole Peterson laid down back-to-back tackles allowing the ball to return to the Wolverines for first down. Two hand off passes to Adam Koza gained some yardage and great double handoff reverse between Anthony Gaiero and Adam Koza. Pelham lost a second touchdown at 4:38in the second due to a holding penalty but did make it to the end zone with 1:21 on the clock. There were some great play moments by Sean Kasprzak and Ian Dowgiert who made some big tackles as well as a strong outside carry by Christopher Billone and a quarterback keeper run hard by Aidan Arinello.
Keegan Parke made a nice kick return to open the third quarter. The boys continued to fight hard. Christopher Billone and Aidan Arinello helped the team move the ball downfield with some great offensive attacks. Christian Spinazola, Sean Kasprzak and Adam Koza also had big tackles as the boys ran a strong defensive gauntlet.

Their efforts paid off early in the fourth quarter and Adam Koza ran a huge 60 yard TD into the Razorback end zone. Sam Dunham put his mark on the field with a big tackle and again Cole Peterson laid down back-to-back tackles. The boys played hard against a great Pelham Razorback team and left it all on the field. Final score: Windham-6, Pelham 13. A great game played by both sides and great day for football.
