WHS Girls Softball Advances to Quarterfinals on Walk-Off Hit
The lady Jaguars will play again on Saturday.

A thrilling extra innings finish Thursday saw the Windham High School girls softball team squeak by John Stark Regional High School 8-7 on a walk-off hit.
The Jaguars, entering the NHIAA Division II state tournament as the no. 6 seed, got all they could handle from the no. 11 seed Generals.
According to a Tweet from the Eagle Tribune, Emily Comtois singled home the winning run, driving in Rachel Vafides in the 10th inning. Vafides had reached base on a hit by pitch.

The win came after a big comeback from John Stark, which saw Windham jump out to a 6-2 lead on a hot afternoon.
Windham now moves on to the quarterfinals, where they will take on no. 3 seed Hollis-Brookline on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The quarterfinals were the site of Windham's undoing in 2012. They lost 4-2 to Souhegan after knocking off Hollis-Brookline last year in the first round.
