13 NJ Mega Millions Players Win Prizes Of $10K Or More Tuesday

NEW JERSEY — No one in the Garden State hit the $1.55 billion jackpot, but 13 players won a prize of $10,000 or more, according to the New Jersey Lottery.

The winning numbers for Tuesday, Aug. 8 were 13, 19, 20, 32, and 33 with a gold Mega Ball of 14. The New Jersey players winning the biggest prizes matched four of the five white balls drawn, and the Mega Ball, to win a third-tier prize, said lottery officials.

Three New Jersey Mega Millions players took home a $20,000 prize, and 10 others won $10,000 in Tuesday's drawing, said the state lottery. The players who won the bigger prize purchased the Megaplier option, which doubled their winnings this draw.

One person in Florida hit the jackpot, per Mega Millions. The one-time cash payout is expected to be $757 million before taxes, which is the largest jackpot in history for this particular game.

Here are the places where the winning Mega Millions tickets were sold in New Jersey (note that online-only lotto retailers are listed by where they are headquartered, not where the winner was from):

Another 240 players matched four of the five white balls drawn, making each ticket worth $500. And, the New Jersey lottery said 31 of those tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $1,000.
