22K Lose Power In NJ As Powerful Storms Push Through State
A severe thunderstorm watch for all of New Jersey remains in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday.
NEW JERSEY — Nearly 22,000 in New Jersey lost power Saturday evening as severe storms moved through the state.
About 10,000 customers of Jersey Central Power & Light lacked power as of 7:30 p.m. Saturday, including 4,747 in Ocean County, 3,155 in Sussex County and 1,624 in Hunterdon County. Most of the Ocean County outages occurred in Lacey, where 3,963 — nearly 30 percent of the township — lost power.
PSE&G also sustained 8,306 outages as of 7:30 p.m., including 6,285 in Bergen County.
