NEW JERSEY - Chances are you’ve already tried this ever-popular brand that’s only expanding in the Garden State.

National foodie website Mashed.com released a list of the best gas station cuisine in every state, and beloved convenience store chain Wawa’s signature subs landed a spot on the ranking.

And although Wawa is headquartered in Pennsylvania, it seems to have a soft spot in the hearts of many New Jersey residents.

Mashed.com said the following of the east coast convenience store giant:

What Sheetz is to Pennsylvania, Wawa is to New Jersey. Wawa is one of the best places to rest and fill up your tank because you can find tons of great food and drink options there that you don't get at regular gas stations. One of the key reasons why people love Wawa is that it makes fresh, delicious subs that are portable, tasty, and pretty healthy. Wawa's classic subs have a few things going for them. The flavors are all familiar and predictable, but the ingredients are super fresh, and there are plenty of different toppings to choose from.

There are over 270 Wawa stores in New Jersey (accounting for more than a quarter of all locations) and more than 950 locations nationwide, offering everything from hoagies and coffee to pizza and quick snacks.

And if you live in the state and somehow haven’t tried their signature hoagies, you may get a chance soon. Wawa is set to reportedly double its store count by 2030, with a handful of new stores planned in the Garden State. The new locations will open as early as this spring.
