Capri Sun Pulled From NJ Shelves, May Contain Cleaning Solution
Kraft Heinz is recalling thousands of cases of the juice product, saying only one flavor is affected. Here's what you need to know.
NEW JERSEY - Kraft Heinz recalled thousands of cases of Capri Sun on Friday, saying the juice pouches may be contaminated with cleaning solution.
The voluntary recall affects about 5,760 cases of Capri Sun Wild Cherry Flavored Juice Drink Blend beverages with a best-by date of June 25, 2023 and a manufacturer code 25JUN2023
WXX #### CT1404 on the carton.
The affected beverages are in 6.6-ounce foil pouches packed in paperboard cartons.

Capri Sun is sold at New Jersey stores like Target, Walmart, ShopRite and Dollar General.
"The voluntary recall comes after diluted cleaning solution, which is used on food processing equipment, was inadvertently introduced into a production line at one of our factories," said the company, which has headquarters in Chicago and Pittsburgh, in a news release.

"The issue was discovered after we received several consumer complaints about the taste of the affected product. The Company is actively working with retail partners and distributors to remove potentially impacted product from circulation."
Consumers who purchased the beverage should not consume it and can return it to the store where it was purchased.
Customers can contact Kraft Heinz from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, at 1-800-280-8252 to see if a product is part of the recall and to receive reimbursement.
