Debris Spill, Commuting Delays In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 8:12 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound north of Exit 148 - John F. Kennedy Drive North in Bloomfield. 1 right lane blocked.

As of 8:05 a.m., there's a disabled vehicle on I-280 westbound east of Exit 15 - NJ 21 in Newark. 1 right lane closed.

As of 8:04 a.m., there's a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike outer roadway northbound south of Interchange 13A - Newark Liberty International Airport/US 1&9 in Elizabeth. 2 center lanes blocked.

As of 7:37 a.m., there's a crash at the Lincoln Tunnel center tunnel westbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Weehawken. 1 left lane blocked.

As of 7:30 a.m., there are delays on US 206 southbound from CR 613/Drakesdale Road to CR 613/Flanders Netcong Road in Mount Olive Township. All lanes open.

As of 7:06 a.m., there's a crash on the George Washington Bridge upper level eastbound New Jersey side Toll Plaza in Fort Lee. 1 center lane blocked.

As of 6:36 a.m., there are delays on NJ 4 eastbound approaching west of New Jersey Turnpike/I-95/George Washington Bridge in Englewood. All lanes open.

As of 6:33 a.m., there are delays on NJ 21 northbound from south of Exit 13 - Randolph Avenue to Exit 14 - US 46 in Clifton.

As of 6:14 a.m., there are delays on the George Washington Bridge lower level eastbound on the New Jersey side near Toll Plaza in Fort Lee. The travel time is 15 minutes on I-95 from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

As of 6:11 a.m. there are delays at the Lincoln Tunnel south tunnel eastbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Weehawken. Travel time is 20 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 16E to the New York side.

As of 5:58 a.m., there are delays on NJ 139 Lower eastbound from west of NJ 139 Upper Roadway exit to Jersey Avenue in Jersey City.

As of 5:50 a.m., there's construction on the George Washington Bridge upper level westbound ramp to Palisades Interstate Parkway in Fort Lee. 1 left lane closed until 2:30 p.m.

Central Jersey

As of 8:12 a.m., there's a streetlight knocked down on NJ 37 eastbound ramp to CR 549/Hooper Avenue in Toms River. All lanes open; ramp is closed with a 5 to 10 minute delay.

As of 7:32 a.m., there are pockets of volume on US 1 northbound from north of Quaker Bridge Road to Harrison Street in West Windsor.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on NJ 35 northbound Morgan Drawbridge in Sayreville. All lanes open until 4 p.m.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on NJ 37 in both directions from Mathis Bridge-Eastbound in Toms River to Tunney Bridge-Westbound in Dover. Right shoulder closed until 4 p.m.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on NJ 34 in both directions in the vicinity of CR 520/Newman Springs Road in Colts Neck. All lanes closed intermittently until 4 p.m.

As of 6:29 a.m., there's construction on NJ 72 in both directions between Shore Avenue and CR 607/Long Beach Boulevard in Ship Bottom. All lanes shift until May 20.

As of 6 a.m., there's construction on I-295 in both directions from Exit 73-Scotch Road in Hopewell to Delaware River/Scudder Falls Bridge in Ewing Township. 1 right lane closed until 4 p.m.

As of 4:07 a.m., there's construction on NJ 33 in both directions between Rt. 79 in Freehold and CR 55 in Freehold Township. All lanes closed and detoured until April 30.

South Jersey

As of 8:10 a.m., there's a debris spill on I-295 northbound south of Exit 32 - CR 561/Haddonfield Berlin Road in Cherry Hill. Right shoulder closed.

As of 8:05 a.m., there's a debris spill and heavy traffic on I-295 northbound from north of Exit 26N - I-76/I-676 in Bellmawr to Exit 31 - Woodcrest Station in Haddonfield. Right shoulder closed 20 to 25 minute delays due to debris in the right shoulder.

As of 7:48 a.m., there's a crash on I-295 southbound Exit 43 - CR 838/Creek Road in Mount Laurel. Left shoulder closed.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on NJ 55 northbound south of NJ 42 in Deptford. Right shoulder closed until 3:30 p.m.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on NJ 45 southbound US 322/Mulica Hill Road in Harrison. All lanes closed and detoured until 3:30 p.m.

As of 6:42 a.m., there's construction on Atlantic City-Brigantine Connector southbound between Exit A - Midtown, Downbeach and south of NJ 187/Brigantine Boulevard in Atlantic City. 2 right lanes closed until 3 p.m.

As of 6:37 a.m., there are minor delays on I-76 westbound from Exit 1A - NJ 42/I-295 in Bellmawr to Walt Whitman Bridge in Gloucester City. Delays due to volume.

As of 6:32 a.m., there's construction on the Atlantic City Expressway eastbound in the vicinity of Exit 9 - Atlantic City International Airport - CR 563 in Egg Harbor Township. 2 left lanes and shoulder closed until 4 p.m.

As of 6:30 a.m., there are minor delays on NJ 42 northbound from Exit 13 - NJ 55 in Deptford Township to I-295 in Bellmawr. Delays due to volume.

As of 6:12 a.m., there's roadwork on the Garden State Parkway northbound between south of Exit 4 - N J 47 in Lower Township and south of Exit 6 - NJ 147 in Middle Township. 1 left lane closed.

As of 5:36 a.m., there's roadwork on the Garden State Parkway southbound between south of exit 6 - NJ 147 in Middle Township and south of Exit 4 - NJ 47 in Lower Township. 1 left lane closed.

Transit Updates

North Jersey Coast Line and Northeast Corridor NJ Transit lines are under temporary schedule adjustments are in effect for the next six to eight weeks to accommodate major repair work to the Laurel Avenue Bridge in Holmdel. See here for updated timetables.

NJ Transit Main/Bergen/Port Jervis train #50, the 5:48 a.m. departure from Port Jervis, is cancelled due to mechanical issues. Please take train #52, the 6:03 a.m. departure from Port Jervis.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

The 6:12 a.m. NJ Transit Light Rail River Line departure from Trenton is cancelled due to a mechanical issue.

NJ Transit bus route 11, the 6:12 a.m. from Newark to Willowbrook Mall. Stop will not operate today due to operator availability.

NJ Weather

Expect isolated showers around the state after 3 p.m. and cloudy skies with a high near 54. Breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 20 mph.
