Voter Registration Deadline Approaching In NJ: How To Check Or Change Your Info
Make sure you are ready to vote in your neighborhood for school board, local government, and state legislature elections on November 7.
NEW JERSEY — Another Election Day is approaching in New Jersey. And though 2024 is going to be a major year with the next presidential election, local and state elections this year allow Garden State residents to have a say in who represents them closer to home.
Tuesday was National Voter Registration Day, where legislators and civic groups across the nation encouraged people to add their name to the voting rolls. There are 6.47 million registered voters in New Jersey as of September 1, according to the Statewide Voter Registration Statistics Archive.
All 40 of New Jersey’s legislative districts have elections this year for state Senate and General Assembly seats. A full list of state Senate and General Assembly candidates is on the state’s website.

If you are already registered to vote and want to check your registration status or see where your polling place is, you can do so online.
Any New Jersey voter may apply for a vote-by-mail ballot by completing the application and returning it to their county clerk's office.

Then, they may return it by mail, in a secure ballot drop box, or at the county Board of Elections office.
In-person early voting for the general election will be Oct. 28-Nov. 5. Hours will be Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. Find your county’s locations at vote.nj.gov.
