A woman was beaten with a handgun and then shot in the arm and shoulder inside an Englewood home on Charles Street early Sunday, according to media reports.
According to NJ.com, a man was charged with first-degree attempted murder and arrested at the scene.
Fatal Hit-And-Run In Caldwell, Bus Rider Struck By 2 Cars On Bloomfield Avenue: Police
A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash as she was getting off a bus in Caldwell on Friday night, authorities say.
The crash took place around 6:30 p.m. on the 400-block of Bloomfield Avenue, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Caldwell Police Department.

Longtime Coach, His Wife Killed As SUV Smashes Into NJ Living Room: Officials
A longtime high school sports coach and his wife were identified as the two people who were killed after an SUV smashed into a Mullica Hill house Saturday night and caught fire.
Tom Hengel, 72, was driving north on Banff Drive when, for an unknown reason, his SUV quickly accelerated. The 2020 Hyundai Palisade then struck a curb, traveled across two front yards and crashed through a house, entering the living room, police said.

South Brunswick Mobile Home Fire Injures 2
A father and daughter were hospitalized on Saturday following a fire in their mobile home in South Brunswick, according to media reports.
According to News12, the flames started at 4:45 p.m. at the Beookside Mobile Home Park on Route 1.
Manchester Township Crash Seriously Injures 89-Year-Old Woman
An 89-year-old woman was seriously injured Friday evening in Manchester Township after a car crash, according to media reports.
News 12 reports that the woman was turning left at School House Road and Route 530 when she hit a Ford Mustang traveling west on Route 35.
